I joined the Gene editing programme in my 1st year. Although, the programme was only designed for levels 5, 6, and postgraduates. However, I secured a place through my resilience and dedication. Before joining the programme, I was diffident, atychiphobia, and overwhelmed. I began to show remarkable poise and self-possession after being part of the programme.
The Gene Editing Program has been extremely helpful in all my studies. I have learned a lot and gained so much experience through lab sessions, which I believe is a transferable skill for my future career. I can confidently design primers and target sequences using PrimerQuest, Ensemble, Benching, IDT DNA, Eurofinsgenomics, and more. Thanks to Dr. Kalpana for giving me this great opportunity. It’s such an honour to be studying with master’s students and being on this journey together. Some skills I gained include communication skills, writing skills, time management, organisational skills, and writing skills.
